Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania
Upon your arrival in Tanzania, you will be greeted at the airport by your safari guide who will accompany you throughout your adventure. After a warm welcome, you will be transferred to your accommodation near Arusha, the gateway to the famous national parks of northern Tanzania. Take this day to rest and prepare for the exciting days ahead.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park
After an early breakfast, you will head to Tarangire National Park, known for its diverse wildlife and stunning baobab trees. As you drive through the park, keep an eye out for elephants, lions, giraffes, and a variety of bird species. Enjoy game drives throughout the day, and in the evening, settle into your lodge/camp for a relaxing night amidst the wilderness.
Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park
Today, you will explore Lake Manyara National Park, a small but picturesque park renowned for its tree-climbing lions and the large flocks of flamingos that inhabit the lake. You will have the opportunity to spot other wildlife, such as zebras, elephants, hippos, and an array of birdlife. In the afternoon, proceed to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and spend the night on the crater rim, enjoying breathtaking views.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater
Prepare for an unforgettable day as you descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s natural wonders. This vast volcanic caldera is home to an astonishing concentration of wildlife, including lions, rhinos, cheetahs, and numerous grazing animals. Enjoy a full day of game drives in this unique ecosystem before returning to your accommodation.
Day 5: Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, depart for the legendary Serengeti National Park, renowned for its vast savannah plains and the annual Great Migration of wildebeest and other herbivores. You’ll spend the day exploring the park, observing the incredible wildlife, and witnessing the dramatic landscapes that make the Serengeti a top safari destination. In the evening, settle into your camp/lodge and enjoy the sounds of the African night.
Day 6: Serengeti National Park
Dedicate a full day to exploring the Serengeti further. With your experienced guide, venture deep into the park, searching for the Big Five (elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, and rhinos) and encountering a myriad of other wildlife, including zebras, gazelles, hyenas, and cheetahs. Learn about the park’s ecology and witness the captivating interactions between predators and prey. As the day comes to an end, enjoy a final evening in the heart of the Serengeti.
Day 7: Farewell and Departure
On your last day, enjoy a leisurely breakfast and take in the beauty of the Serengeti one last time. Afterward, bid farewell to the park and embark on a scenic drive back to Arusha. Here, you will have time for some last-minute shopping or a visit to a local cultural center before being transferred to the airport for your flight back home. Alternatively, if you choose to extend your safari, your guide will assist you with the arrangements for additional days in Tanzania’s wilderness.
